How to Host a Paint Party at Home Without an Instructor
Share
Hosting a paint party at home sounds fun, but many people worry about the drawing, the supplies, the setup, and helping guests follow along. The good news: you do not need to be an artist, and you do not need to hire an instructor. With pre-drawn canvases, every guest starts with the design already outlined — they simply paint inside the lines, follow the colors, and enjoy the event.
Step 1: Choose your theme
Pick a theme that matches your event. Popular themes include birthdays, girls night, bridal showers, church groups, holidays, school events, and corporate team building. If you have something specific in mind — a sunflower, a Bible verse, your city skyline, even a photo of your pet — we can turn it into a custom pre-drawn canvas for free.
Step 2: Pick the right canvas size
For kids or shorter events, 8×10 canvases are easy to finish. For adults or more detailed designs, 11×14 canvases give more room and usually feel more premium.
Step 3: Decide Canvas Only or Paint Kit
Canvas Only is best if you already have paint, brushes, and supplies — shared paint stations work great for large groups. Paint Kits are best if you want everything prepared: the pre-drawn canvas plus the supplies your guests need to start painting right away.

Step 4: Set up the table
Place one canvas, brushes, paint, a water cup, a palette, and a paper towel at each seat. Keep extra paper towels and trash bags nearby. Cover the table if you are worried about spills — a dollar-store tablecloth does the job.
Step 5: Make it fun
Play music, take photos, and let guests paint at their own pace. The goal is not perfection — the goal is a fun memory and a finished canvas everyone feels proud of. The group photo of everyone holding up their matching paintings is always the favorite moment.
