Frequently asked questions

Seven years. Thousands of paint parties. We've heard it all. Here are the questions we get the most.

General questions
Canvas Paint Party makes custom pre-drawn canvases and paint kits for parties, events, schools, churches, businesses, and group activities. Each canvas arrives already outlined, so guests can start painting right away without needing drawing skills or an instructor.
It is simple. You choose a design, quantity, canvas size, and whether you need paint kits. We prepare the canvases with clean black outlines and ship them to you. At your event, guests paint inside the outlines and create their own finished artwork.
No. Our canvases are designed so guests can paint without an instructor. The outlines guide each person step by step, making the activity easy for beginners, kids, adults, and large groups.
No. The canvases arrive pre-drawn with black outlines only. Your guests paint them during the event.
Yes. Our designs are made for beginners. The outlines make painting easier, even for guests who say they are "not artistic."
They are great for birthdays, bridal showers, baby showers, church events, paint and praise nights, schools, camps, corporate team building, senior centers, fundraisers, girls night, date night, family events, and more.

Yes, but very small details may not work well on canvas, especially for 8×10 sizes. We may simplify the design to keep it clean, bold, and easy to paint.
Use the upload section on the contact or custom order page when you send your request. The regular contact form cannot attach images, so the upload section is the best place for photos, logos, invitations, flyers, or inspiration pictures.
Clear, bright images work best. For portraits and pets, choose a photo where the face is easy to see. For logos, flyers, and invitations, send the highest quality file you have so we can turn the important details into a clean paintable outline.
Custom design help is free for eligible canvas orders. Send your idea, quantity, size, and deadline first, and we will confirm whether the design is possible for your timeline and order type.
Canvas & paint kit questions
We commonly offer 8×10 and 11×14 canvases. The 8×10 size is great for kids, shorter events, and budget-friendly groups. The 11×14 size is better for adults, detailed designs, and longer paint sessions.
Choose 8×10 for kids, quick activities, classrooms, camps, and simple designs. Choose 11×14 for adults, church events, corporate groups, portraits, detailed themes, and paint parties that last around 60–80 minutes.
Canvas Only includes the pre-drawn canvas with the design outline. Paint, brushes, palettes, and smocks are not included.
Each Paint Kit includes 12 colors of acrylic paint in 3ml paint pots, 2 brushes (1 small and 1 large), 1 disposable smock, 1 paint palette, and a color mixing guide. One Paint Kit can cover up to two 8x10 canvases.

Not always. One Paint Kit can cover up to two 8x10 canvases. If you want every guest to have their own paint, brushes, smock, palette, and guide, order one Paint Kit per guest.
Each Paint Kit includes 12 acrylic paint colors in 3ml paint pots. Acrylic paint looks bright on canvas and dries well, but it can stain clothing and surfaces, so we recommend table covers, wipes, and smocks or old clothes.
No. Paint Kits include paint, 2 brushes, a disposable smock, palette, and color mixing guide. Hosts should provide table covers, water cups, paper towels or wipes, and any extra setup supplies for the room.
Often, yes. This can be helpful if some guests need full kits and others already have paint supplies. Message us with your quantity and we can help you choose the cleanest setup.

Yes. Most guests can take their paintings home the same day after the paint has time to dry. Bring bags, boxes, trays, or flat cardboard if people need to transport wet or slightly damp canvases.
Cover the tables first, then place one canvas at each seat with brushes, paint, palette, water cup, and paper towels nearby. For larger events, shared paint stations can keep the tables cleaner and easier to manage.
Acrylic paint can stain clothing and surfaces. We recommend table covers, smocks or old clothes, wipes, and quick cleanup during the event.

If production has not started, cancellation may be possible. Once the design is approved and production begins, cancellation may not be available.
After approval, we begin preparing the canvases based on the approved design. Changes after approval may not be possible or may require an additional fee.
Please contact us right away. If we made an error, we will work with you to fix it.
