Names, wording and logos on custom designs

Groups often want a name, a date, a short verse or a logo on their canvases. This page explains what helps lettering paint well, which route to use, and what permission you need.

What helps lettering paint well

  • Room inside the letters. Painters fill letters with a brush, so thin or tightly spaced letters are hard to paint.
  • Fewer words. A name and a date, or a short phrase, usually works better than a sentence.
  • Bold shapes. Simple, chunky lettering is easier than fine script.
  • Enough canvas. 11 × 14 inches leaves more room for wording than 8 × 10; see choosing a size.

Which route to use

Send a photo, reference image or finished outline through the custom order form, or email info@canvaspaintparty.com to arrange an order. We turn your image into a paintable outline as needed. Online self-service ordering is not available yet. Seeing or approving a design preview is optional.

A different name on each canvas

Each canvas carries one design, so a canvas personalized with one person's name is its own design. One order can include several designs, each with its own quantity, so a group order can include a canvas for every name. Check each spelling before you send the list. Design assistance is free, and you can ask for a digital preview of the outline to check names and wording.

Permission to use logos and text

Only send logos, characters and text you have permission to use. School, team, company and club logos belong to their owners, so check with them first. Some scripture translations and song lyrics are under copyright; your church or the publisher can tell you what is allowed. Faith groups can find more in church and faith groups.
