A rainy-day canvas backup for camps
For camp directors who want an indoor plan ready for bad weather. The idea is simple: keep a set of canvases and supplies stored and ready, with a written plan for who decides to use them and how. It relies on stock you already hold, not on a delivery arriving in time.
Business and group-order inquiries: b2b@canvaspaintparty.com.
Confirm the indoor space
Choose the room now: a dining hall, a covered shelter or a cabin. Check tables, light, water and where paintings can dry flat. Note how many campers it seats.
Keep materials dry and ready
Store the canvases flat in a dry place, with paint, brushes and covers in one labeled box. Check the box at the start of each session. Every canvas is primed cotton on a wooden stretcher, stapled at the back, with the design printed as a permanent black outline that several coats of paint can cover. Canvases come in 8 × 10 and 11 × 14 inches, portrait or landscape, and one order can mix sizes.
Choose a flexible activity
A rainy-day backup has to work with little notice and mixed ages. A simple design with large shapes, which suits both younger and older campers, keeps setup quick.
Weather-backup activation checklist
We recommend adult supervision for children aged five and under, and children under three should never paint unattended.

If the backup is not used
Keep unused canvases flat and dry. Before using them at a later session, inspect the canvas surface, frame and outline, and check paints and other supplies according to their labels. Note what remains so you know what to order next time; repeat hosting covers keeping a record.
See youth programs and camps for the main camp guide. Before restocking the backup, contact us with the additional canvas and kit quantities you need, selected designs and sizes, and the next camp date.
Questions camp directors ask
How many canvases should the backup hold?
Enough for the largest group that would use the indoor space at one time, plus the spares you choose. Base it on your own rosters.
Can mixed-age groups use one design?
Yes, if the design has large shapes; older campers can add detail and highlights.
How long do stored canvases keep?
We do not specify a storage lifetime here. Before each session, check for moisture, damage and changes in the materials, and replace anything unsuitable. Follow the storage instructions on paints and other supplies.
What if the backup is needed two days running?
Plan two stages: base colors on the first day and details on the second, so one set of canvases covers both.
