Planning a school family paint night

For school family-engagement coordinators planning an evening where families paint together. The key planning difference from a classroom session: the number of people who come is not the number who paint. This guide helps you count painters, supervise, receive the order and send every painting home.

Business and group-order inquiries: b2b@canvaspaintparty.com.

Count people and painters separately

A family of four may paint four canvases, two, or one together. Ask on the sign-up how many in each household will paint and whether they will share. Plan seats for everyone, but order canvases for painters.

Household-to-canvas worksheet

One line per household from your sign-up. Add the spares you decide to hold to the total.

Household or individual painting

Let families choose: one canvas each, or one shared canvas per household. Sharing one canvas explains how sharing works.

Choose designs for mixed ages

Offer a simpler design for younger children and a more detailed one for older students and adults, and let families pick. Several designs can be in one order.

Labels and adult supervision

Children stay with their own adults. We recommend adult supervision for children aged five and under, and children under three should never paint unattended. If you need paint labels or material details, contact us before you order; we make no safety or washability claims here.

Receiving and parent information

  1. Order

We recommend contacting us at least two weeks before the event. Give the school address and a contact so we can discuss timing; this is not a delivery guarantee.

  2. Receive

Check the delivery against the order when it arrives. Report damage within one week of delivery with photos of the product and packaging. Contact us about missing or incorrect items as soon as you notice them.

  3. Tell families

What to wear, when to arrive, that paintings need to dry flat on the way home.

  4. On the night

Arrival table, labeled places, drying area, pickup point.

More for schools

Schools and learning groups covers getting supplies approved and classroom sessions. For a school order inquiry, send the number of painting places, selected designs and sizes, optional kit quantities and any purchasing paperwork requirements.

For current order questions, contact the team. Read shipping and tracking guidance or order-problem and return guidance.

Questions family-engagement coordinators ask

Do younger siblings paint too?
Ask families on the sign-up. Young siblings can share a canvas with an adult or paint their own with close supervision. We recommend adult supervision for children aged five and under, and children under three should never paint unattended.

How do paintings get home wet?
Tell families to carry them flat, by the frame edges. A cardboard flat or tray in the car helps.

Can the school order for families and collect payment?
That is the school's own arrangement. We supply the canvases and optional kits; payment between families and the school is up to you.

Can we use our school logo or mascot?
If you are allowed to use it, design assistance can turn it into an outline. See names, wording and logos.

Keep planning
