Testing one canvas before a larger gathering

Planning a big event? Paint one canvas yourself first. The minimum order is one canvas, which makes a genuine trial possible: you find out how the design, the supplies and the room work before you commit to a larger order. This is your own trial, not a special sample offer.

Decide what the trial should answer

A trial is most useful when you know what you are testing. Write down two or three questions, for example: Is this design right for our group? Is the size right? How long do people need? What supplies do we actually use? Will our room work?

Choose the canvas and supplies to test

Order one canvas of the design and size you are considering. Test with the paint and brushes you plan to use at the event: your own, or an optional kit if you plan to use kits. Each optional paint kit has 12 colors (3 ml each), two brushes, an apron, a six-well palette and a color-mixing guide. You choose how many kits you need, separately from the number of canvases.

Run the session as your guests would

  1. Set up

Lay out the place exactly as you would for a guest, and note what you needed.

  2. Start

Begin the way guests will, with or without a short demonstration.

  3. Paint

Paint at a normal pace. Note where you slowed down or hesitated.

  4. Pause

Take the breaks you plan to give guests.

  5. Finish and clean up

Let the canvas dry flat and clean up. Note what took longest.

What one trial can and cannot tell you

One person's session is a useful guide, not a promise. Your guests may be faster, slower or more detailed than you, and children and adults differ. Use the trial to adjust the plan, not to set a fixed timetable or a fixed amount of paint per person.

Use what you learned

Adjust the design, size or supplies, then plan the full quantity. Planning quantities and how to plan a paint party take it from there. After the trial, send the selected design, sizes and canvas and kit quantities to ask about current order pricing.

For current order questions, contact the team. Read shipping and tracking guidance or order-problem and return guidance.

Keep planning

Canvas Paint Party supplies physical pre-outlined canvases and optional paint kits. Your organizer arranges the venue, facilitation and other event supplies. Ask about a custom canvas or contact us about group supplies.
